Senior Discount's Christmas Medley

So, as the S*D fans know by now, we had a terribly harrowing experience last Christmas trying to record our Christmas medley.
Well, we got it done, but only about a week before Christmas, so THIS year, we're pushing it like crazy.
We're going to posting it all over Facebook and Twitter, putting physical flyers in stores, and giving some burned CDs out at select shows.
If all the S*D fans could help out and link people to the song (right on our frontpage at seniordiscountmusic.com) it would mean a lot to us.
Also, call 95.5 WBRU at 401-272-9555 to request Senior Discount's Christmas Medley on the radio!
I'm steal healing up from my recent spine surgery, and the band has a lot to deal with, but we're going to be announcing a really big show very soon.

Excited for this first time in a new venue, on a show with new friends, promoted by 95.5 WBRU! We actually have a little new musical intro we're getting ready for the show too. It's going to be a great night.

2. NEW S*D COMEDY VID: "How To Act At The Movies"
This is the second one of our PSAs starring myself, Sousa and Lil' Abraham - Oh no!(the first PSA was in the "Decent Proposal" video, and will be available to watch by itself very soon).

We talk: The Lonely Island's new video, Jimmy Fallon + Paul Simon's performance of "Cecilia", Cloud storage, the death of Guitar Hero, and an acoustic + accordion Against Me performance!

2/26/11 - This is going to be a crazy night. The Toasters are ska-legends, and we have a few fans in the Providence area, so this is going to be one hell of a show - packed wall-to-wall.

So, this is possibly the most exciting event Senior Discount has ever headlined. We've kept this under wraps since May; we're super proud to announce "The Senior Discount Movie" Anniversary Extravaganza!

The Short Explanation: In 2007 we put together a sort of documentary/comedy about the band, with tons of insane stunts and pranks, as well as live footage, and an explanation/story of the band. We premiered it in Providence Place Mall for a ridiculous fun sold-out evening.
Now! We will be doing an anniversary screening with TONS of new never-before-seen footage, and a FREE full-band acoustic show directly beforehand in the mall!

New Podcast - Episode 41: Before the Senior Discount/Sky Punch and Chuck/Brad updates, Brad reads a poem that Chuck wrote for school many years ago. The two jump into some forgotten Chammies and Brammies (and discuss graphic novels) and then answer some emails. They then introduce their new segment: "Web Couliers" and talk about Lamebook.com, dontevenreply.com, the new 8-bit Left 4 Dead game, College Humor's Best Fails of 2009, and Nintendo8.com.
The two buccaneers then brave the waters of 3-D film, Avatar (and its success), Jersey Shore, Thankskilling, Haiti, and Chuck introduces his new "B.S. Book". The "woodsman of media" then stumble down the trails of the movie Big Fan, sex robots, the death of Brittany Murphy, and the fact that Chuck has an acquaintance who is on American Idol this season.
They close the show with a discussion about Conan O'Brien's Late Night situation, the movie Machete, news about the Spiderman film series, and close the show with news about six or seven new upcoming comedies.Check it out.

We have been asked to play at Harper's Ferry in Boston next Wednesday, January 6th!
We really hope people can come out to this, as we'd love to start playing Harper's Ferry and build up a fanbase there (much like we did at the Living Room in Providence)!
The last time we were in Boston was at the sold out Girl Talk show at the House of Blues - and a lot of people really liked us, but most of them were drunk and barely coherent, so the chances of them checking our website/myspace are low - so TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW about this show! We're trying to spread the word so that everyone hears about this!

S*D/Badfish Christmas Show '09

I just wanted to thank everyone deeply for tonight and for the whole past few months in the Discount career.
Tonight at Lupos was another amazing show, and we couldn't believe how rowdy the crowd was and how much it seemed like they truly appreciated what we were doing.
We put a ton of work into our new Christmas DVD (which will still available at seniordiscountmerch.com) as well as the stage show we prepared for the Christmas show, and we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
From the House of Blues show, to the Hot Topic acoustic shows this summer, to the Block Party, to the the dirty Allston basement show we played in August, to our newest video "A Decent Proposal", to our headlining show at Club Hell last month, all the way to tonight at Lupos, with Tom Wells stripping as Santa Claus at the end of our eight-song Christmas medley; I am so positive that we are currently creating the best stuff we've ever done. I am beyond proud of myself and my close friends for performing the way we have.
I thank all involved for making these days and nights possible, and I commend everyone who contributes to the Discount world; from the ugliest Sousa to the smelliest S*D fan.
This has been the craziest and biggest year for us; who knows what's next!

Okay Discount-fans!
Senior Discount's new EP/site re-launch/myspace re-launch will be May 5th. We have a ton of physical and online promo to do for this, and the new site and myspace are gonna be HUGE!
We're in the process of design/recording/html-building and all that B.S. and we're looking to promote this as the biggest thing we've ever done because it truly is.
We're really hoping you guys will help us promote by putting our little (VERY TINY) square gif on your and all your friends' myspace pages, and also, most of all, please PLEASE print out some of the full or quater page flyers we have links for and print them out and put them everywhere.

Senior Discount shut down main site and myspace for complete rehaul!!!!!

Hey guys - as you might have noticed, we took down our main site and our myspace.
We're going to be taking a little time off of shows (we'll still be playing somem just cutting down) - the new website will be MONSTROUS - much more than just music.
We're going to have the new podcast, new videos of all types, the whole band will have Twitter acounts up, Senior Discount Quick Clips, new merch, and much more.
The site is going to have constant updated content and it's going to be our most interactive site yet.
Also - the EP is coming along - we really want this release to be huge so as soon as we get a release date we will be pushing it incredibly and putting an enormously annoying clock release date on our website!
The new stuff will be huge! Keep checking back!

The Rhino Bar sure are dicks!

The Rhino Bar in Newport Rhode Island completely fucked us last Friday - sorry to anyone planning on going out to the show.
We wanted everyone to see exactly how it went
down so:
Basically we were booking in early December and we left a message with
the Rhino Bar - they emailed me back and we talked about booking for this Friday, March 6th. The deal was we were organizing this S*D Fun Night where our fans
go to the Bit Players show and go right down the street to the Rhino
Bar to see Senior Discount beforehand.
The Rhino Bar had offered us a good amount of money ($400) that we
wanted to make this a monthly thing, so we've been promoting it
heavily (constant myspace bulletins, printing of flyers - tons of
physical promotion in Newport) for the past month.
